Lazio won the 1999 UEFA Super Cup final against Manchester United 1-0. The game took place on August 27, 1999 at the Stade Louis II in Monaco.
The only goal of the game was scored by Chilean striker Marcelo Salas in the 35th minute. Lazio's defense held firm throughout the rest of the game and prevented Manchester United from scoring an equaliser. As a result, Lazio emerged as winners of the UEFA Super Cup in 1999.
